SPECTRUM Curriculum Origin
The SPECTRUM pilot training program is the most comprehensive ab-initio training program ever developed. In a joint-venture with Northwest Aerospace Training Corporation (a wholly-owned subsidiary of NWA, parent company of Northwest Airlines), Airbus, and human factor experts, UND Aerospace assembled a task force of senior commercial airline and aviation experts to determine and document everything an airline pilot needs to know, now and in the future. The result was a 1,000-page task analysis, which became the basis of a fully integrated program of academic and flight instruction. The Spectrum curriculum is designed to train students with the demonstrated attitude, knowledge and skills to fly safely and efficiently as flight crewmembers. This world-class curriculum is the basis for pilot training at UND. SPECTRUM is certified as a FAR Part 141 approved flight curriculum and meets ICAO flight experience requirements. |
