Sampling Profiles
Cumulus Clouds
Sampling around cumulus clouds begins with below cloud base aerosol sampling in the updraft region, followed by an ascent and turns (90-270 degrees) outside of the cloud, and a constant altitude pass through the cloud. The ascent/turn, constant altitude penetration, is repeated until the top of the cloud is reached.

Stratus Clouds
Sampling a stratus cloud deck includes below cloud base aerosol sampling, aerosol sampling near the cloud base (both under the cloud and in cloud-free conditions), cloud microphysical sampling, and an above-cloud top leg.
