AIMS

The Aviation Information Management System (AIMS) is the software used at UND for many flight training tasks by aviation students, staff, and faculty. Common uses for students include flight scheduling, viewing your flight training invoices, viewing your flight training records, and calculating weight and balance before a flight.

AIMS has both a web-based version, as well as a desktop application that can be installed on your computer. The web-based version is limited to basic tasks and features. The desktop application allows access to all AIMS features. For the purpose of freshman orientation, the web-based version can be utilized. Follow the steps below to create a user account in AIMS, and enter your contact information. Flight instructors will use this information to contact students when training begins.

Step 1: Create an AIMS Account

Create Account

Step 2: Log into AIMS and Update Contact Information

Log into the online version of AIMS. Once you have logged in, complete the steps below:

  1. Select "Actions and Tools."
  2. Select and acknowledge, "Renew authorization for release." All UND aviation students are required to acknowledge this release every 180 days. No student is allowed to fly without this acknowledgment. Students that have offenses involving drugs, alcohol, and/or violence may not be allowed to conduct flight training. More information will be provided in the orientation session.
  3. Select "Update Contact Info." Update the appropriate contact information, including emergency contact information. After you are assigned to a Flight Instructor, they will use this information to contact you to schedule your first meeting.

Directions on how to download and install AIMS software directly to your computer can be found on the online version of AIMS under the "Links" menu by selecting "Install AIMS."

If you experience difficulties creating an account or logging into AIMS, contact the Aerospace Helpdesk at helpdesk@aero.und.edu.
