Before you actively begin flight training you must bring the following items to the airport to complete your flight lab enrollment and TSA approval to begin flight training. Arriving at UND with your FAA Private Pilot Certificate
We are currently only accepting AVIT 220 documentation for the Spring 2025 semester. Once documentation is submitted and verified by UND, you will be notified via email and will be added to the Spring 2025 roster. Any updates to your status will be notified via email. We will start accepting documentation for the Fall 2025 semester beginning February 1st, 2025.
If you already have your FAA Private Pilot Certificate (PPL), you will be required to submit a scan of your unexpired temporary certificate or your permanent PPL, and your valid FAA Medical Certificate for verification. Upon submitting your documents, the Aviation Department will review your certificates. Once your documents have been reviewed and verified, you will be notified via email and will be authorized to register for AVIT 220: Enhanced Basic Attitude Instrument Flying instead of AVIT 102: Introduction to Aviation.
If you do not have your certificate but are actively working on your PPL outside of UND or are considering obtaining your PPL prior to starting flight training at UND, you can submit your PPL (unexpired temporary or permanent PPL) and your valid FAA Medical Certificate after you have completed your Private Pilot check-ride.
