Aviation Master's Program

The Aviation Master's Degree is built on one of the strongest collegiate aviation programs in the country and was developed with help from industry leaders who helped shape the curriculum.

The John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences at the University of North Dakota offers an online graduate program leading to the Master of Science Degree. The M.S. in Aviation Degree provides the necessary educational background for aviation industry professionals to solve problems within the field of aviation including airlines, corporate aviation, general aviation, and airport management. Graduates will gain an understanding of the various complexities facing the industry through a breadth of aviation industry related courses. In addition, graduates will gain an understanding of statistics and research methods, and how they may be applied to research and solve problems within the aviation industry. The graduate program will provide the graduates with the knowledge and skills that prepare them for aviation industry, aviation related government jobs, and for further research and development in the field of aviation.

Class Format

The Aviation Master's Degree is built on one of the strongest collegiate aviation programs in the country and was developed with help from industry leaders who helped shape the curriculum. Firsthand knowledge in each and every field in the aerospace industry, coupled with a professional, innovative and caring approach to teaching, sets UND faculty apart. Students from anywhere in the world can earn a UND Master of Science in Aviation. UND's program offers synchronous online classes, which allows students to attend live class from anywhere. The combination of synchronous in-class face-to-face interaction with faculty and peers with the ability to pursue an advanced degree without leaving your job or moving ensures the highest quality educational experience possible at a distance. Specializations

Students may elect one of four specializations available within the Master of Science in Aviation. The specializations include Safety, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Management, and Human Factors. A specialization is indicated on the transcript upon successful completion of the M.S. Degree and successful completion of 9 credits of coursework in the applicable specialization area.
